Att göra i/på Nya Zeeland

När det blev klart att jag skulle till Nya Zeeland för att göra min dts började jag fundera på om jag skulle stanna och resa runt i landet när skolan var slut. Det är ju inte så ofta man är på andra sidan jorden. Jag kom dock ganska snabbt fram till att jag nog var ganska sugen på att komma hem när jag varit iväg i sex månader. Dessutom så kommer jag vara totalt pank så det hade kanske inte blivit så kul ändå.

Nu har jag fått reda på att jag kommer få möjlighet att njuta av Sagan om ringen- och Narnia-land en del ändå. En del av deltagaravgiften är en "activity fee" som jag bara vetat att den skulle gå till aktiviteter och utflykter. Det visade sig vara ganska trevliga saker. Så här står det på hemsidan.


In addition to the school fees, there is a required activity fee of $500 NZD per student. This fee covers the cost of transport, organized weekend activities, and a trip into the nearby city of Christchurch every Friday night. Throughout the twelve-week lecture phase, the students are given many opportunities to see various local sights and participate in outdoor exercise.
Some weekend activities include, but are not limited to:

• Surfing
• Rock climbing at the popular and breathtaking Castle Hill
• Caving through Cave Stream, which is close to where the scenic movie Narnia was filmed
• Hiking some nearby mountains and trails with breathtaking views
• Soaking in the thermal hot pools of Hanmer Springs
• Overnight camping opportunities
• Mountain biking
• River tubing
